KA-BAR Knives Unveils New Products and Designers

KA-BAR Knives is proud to introduce its new products and designers for 2014. The new products are all American-made and feature the finest components KA-BAR has used to date.
KA-BAR has collaborated with custom knife maker Mike Snody to introduce three knives in 2014: the Boss, Big Boss, and Snake Charmer. All three are made of S35VN steel, feature 8” of 550 cord and a custom pewter Snody-logoed bead, and are made in Olean, NY. The Snody Boss measures 6 9/16” overall and has a blade length of 3 ½”. The Boss comes with a set of deep purple handles as well as blue handles and a semi-custom leather sheath from JRE. The MSRP of the Boss is $157.99 and will be available for purchase on March 1.
The Snody Big Boss has an overall length of 9” and features a 4 9/16” blade. The Big Boss comes with a set of deep purple handles as well as blue handles and a semi-custom sheath from JRE. The MSRP of the Big Boss is $217.54 and will be available on March 1.
The Snody Snake Charmer is a bird and trout-style knife that has an overall length of 6 ½” and a blade length of 2 5/16”. The Snake Charmer has a hard plastic sheath. The Snake Charmer has an MSRP of $115.32 and will be available on March 1.
KA-BAR designer John Benner of Tactical Defense Institute (TDI) has teamed with custom knife maker Rick Hinderer to present two new knives in 2014. The TDI/Hinderer Hinderance and Hellfire are both made in the USA and feature 1095 Cro-Van steel as well as a locking sheath. Both measure 7 ¼” overall and feature 3 9/16” blades. The Hinderance has a wharncliffe blade style, while the Hellfire sports a modified hawk bill tanto. Both TDI/Hinderer’s will be available on March 1 and have an MSRP of $111.56.
Two new blades join the Johnson Adventure Blades line in 2014. The Parangatang and Wharnstalker are made in Olean, NY and will be available March 1. The Parangatang is a parang-style chopper that measures 19 5/8” overall and has a blade length of 14 1/8”. It is made from 1095 Cro-Van and features a tan cordura sheath. Eight feet of 550 cord is included. The MSRP is $155.63.
The Wharnstalker is made of 440A stainless steel and has a blade length of 4 3/32”. The overall length is 8”. The Wharnstalker features a brown nylon sheath that is MOLLE-compatible. Eight feet of 550 cord is included. The MSRP of the Wharnstalker is $75.33.
The KA-BAR Original Zombie Knife line has a new member in the Zombro. Based off of the KA-BAR Big Brother, the Zombro features a 9 3/8” blade and measures 14 3/8” overall. The handle is zombie green Kraton G® and the steel is 1095 Cro-Van. The Zombro has an MSRP of $137.97 and is made in Olean, NY. The Zombro will be available on March 1.
KA-BAR is pleased to introduce the American-made KA-BAR Neck Knife. Featuring 1095 Cro-Van steel and a blade length of 3 7/8”, the skeletonized knife measures 7 7/8” overall. The KA-BAR Neck has an MSRP of $62.22 and is currently available for sale at KA-BAR.com and KA-BAR dealers and distributors.
Several products in the KA-BAR lineup have undergone redesigns in 2014. The MULE and Warthog folding knife lines have added titanium coated metal bolsters. The Traditional Knives line has added five American-made knives under the “Coppersmith” banner.
KA-BAR has also added American-made playing cards, bottle opener, and ice scraper to the lineup. All have an MSRP of $7.
KA-BAR is also proud to announce the signing of custom knife maker Jesse Jarosz. Jarosz was named Usual Suspect Network (USN) New Maker of the Year in 2012 and will bring his expertise and enthusiasm to KA-BAR. The first Jarosz-designed models will appear in the KA-BAR line in 2015.
