Sonoran Desert Institute Supports Texas Youth Shooting Sports Banquet

One of the nation’s premier distance learning schools for gunsmithing and firearms technology, Sonoran Desert Institute (SDI) has long been committed to supporting shooting sports, hunting traditions and Second Amendment rights. Today, SDI is proud to announce it is donating the full tuition cost for its gunsmithing certificate program during the upcoming Texas State Rifle Association fundraising banquet.

The 6th Annual Texas State Rifle Association Foundation banquet will welcome TSRA members, gun owners and Second Amendment supporters from across the state to raise funds to benefit the youth shooting sports. The event will be held February 21, 2014 at the Holiday Inn Midtown in Austin, Texas.

“Increasing youth participation in shooting sports and providing resources for firearm education are essential to preserving our American ideals and traditions,” says Pam Rogers, Director of the Sonoran Desert Institute. “The Texas State Rifle Association has a well-respected youth program that fosters and promotes team shooting in a variety of disciplines, and we’re very happy to help their fundraising efforts.”

The largest gun rights organization in the Lone Star State, the Texas State Rifle Association champions the rights of law-abiding Texans to own, enjoy and use firearms as guaranteed by the Constitutions of the State of Texas and the United States of America. The TSRA is dedicated to protecting the inalienable rights of individuals to acquire, possess, transport, carry, transfer ownership and enjoy the right to lawful use of firearms for self preservation, for the defense of family and property and the common defense of the Republic and the individual liberties of the people.
