VIRIDIAN Rocks the Concealed Carry Market: Reactor 5 Green Laser Amps Smith & Wesson Shield
OutdoorHub 02.04.14
Viridian stuns the industry again by introducing the first and only green laser sight for the popular Smith & Wesson M&P Shield. Packing the exclusive Viridian Green 532 nm laser, the breakthrough Reactor 5 (R5) is up to 50 times brighter than conventional red – visible day or night, indoors or out, in all conditions, at distances no standard laser can touch.
With its pistol-matched design, ECR Instant-On activation, two-color battery level indicator, and included holster, the R5 represents a complete carry package. It maximizes the function of the Shield with virtually no bulk or weight.
ECR (Enhanced Combat Readiness) Instant-On technology ignites the laser at the instant of draw, without fumbling with buttons, sliders or unfamiliar grips. Every Reactor comes with an ECR Instant-On holster. To arm ECR, simply turn on the laser before holstering. The laser will automatically turn off when in the holster. Upon draw, the laser instantly activates, giving you the edge. Under life and death pressure, that fail-safe response can make all the difference.
The included ECR Instant-On holster is made of reinforced nylon. It features a removable, ambidextrous belt clip and is designed for inside-the-waistband and pocket carry. For consumers who prefer other holster options, Viridian offers ECR Instant-on holsters by Galco, DeSantis, and Crossbreed.
The Reactor 5 for the Smith & Wesson M&P Shield is the third green laser in the Reactor lineup, joining the Ruger LCP and Ruger LC9/LC380. Models for popular pistols by Glock, Springfield, and Kahr are set for later this year.
