Registration Closing Soon for 2014 Lucas Oil IFA Pro-Am

The Inshore Fishing Association (IFA) will kick off the 2014 Lucas Oil IFA Pro-Am Redfish Challenge Series March 28, 2014, at Chalmette, La. The minimum field size has already been reached for the event, which features a three-day format and pairs some of the sport’s best professional inshore anglers with co-anglers in a high-stakes, made-for-TV competition.
Only a limited number of spots remain available for anglers that commit to fish the full 2014 schedule. The IFA urges any interested anglers to act fast and secure their registration prior to March 1, at which time 2014 registration will officially close. Details are available by calling 478-836-4266.
Generating even more incentive to fish the full schedule in 2014, the IFA has announced the Lucas Oil Angler of the Year race. Points will be assigned based on overall finish at each of the three 2014 pro-am events, with the highest finishing pro-angler and highest finishing co-angler receiving custom, Lucas Oil rings and paid entry fees for the 2015 season.
“We’re excited to kick things off for 2014,” said IFA Marketing Director Bart Schad. “The response from anglers has been incredible and registrations filled up even faster than we anticipated. We’re thrilled with the quality of anglers in the field and look forward to our first event at Chalmette.”
The Lucas Oil IFA Pro-Am will feature a limited field size of approximately 25 pro- and co-anglers and a minimum guaranteed payout of $55,000 on the pro-side, including $25,000 for first place, and $12,500 for co-anglers. The event will use a shared weight format (two fish per day/boat) and will be broadcast to over 120 million combined TV households on NBC Sports Outdoors, Pursuit Channel, Fox Sports Net Southwest and the Texas Channel.
The upcoming Chalmette event will operate out of the Marina Motel (5353 Paris Road, Chalmette, LA 70043). The activities will begin on Thursday, March 27, with tournament registration at Tony’s Po-Boy Restaurant (434 E Judge Perez Dr., Chalmette, LA 70043) from 5:00-6:30 p.m. with the Pairings Meeting to follow at 7 p.m. Anglers will launch from Marina Motel at safe light during the three-day event. Check-in times will be assigned at registration with anglers returning to the Marina Motel for each day’s weigh-in.
