Registration Underway for Cabela’s Big Bass Bash

Event to be held on Kentucky Lake April 4-6

Collegiate anglers throughout the country are gearing up for the most unique event of all the collegiate fishing events on the schedule this year, the 2014 Cabela’s Big Bass Bash. The Big Bass Bash will be held on Kentucky Lake and is hosted by Henry County Alliance of Paris, Tennessee. Registration is now underway for college anglers from across the nation for the second of the three 2014 major collegiate fishing events that the Association of Collegiate Anglers and Cabela’s Collegiate Bass Fishing Series operates.

The event continues to showcase the fantastic spring fishing opportunities on Kentucky Lake not only to the collegiate anglers fishing the event, but also to the fans of college fishing that watch the national coverage from the event.

This nationally televised event features a big bass format that rewards not only the biggest catch of the day, but numerous other catches on rotating hourly basis. This will result in over $30,000.00 in total prizes being on the line when combing all the prizes and contingency opportunities available. Serving as a host to a major college fishing event for the fifth consecutive year, The Henry County Alliance of Paris, Tennessee, and the Paris Landing Marina will be tournament headquarters.

“We are excited to host the 2014 Cabela’s Big Bass Bash at beautiful Paris Landing on Kentucky Lake,” stated David Hamilton, CEO of the Henry County Alliance. “Henry County hosts many angler tournaments and we always enjoy having the Cabela’s College Fishing Series at the lake,” Hamilton added.

Competition takes place in April, with the onsite registration, dinner, and activities to be held Friday, April 4th and fishing taking place April 5th and 6th, 2014. The event also is a key one in the Cabela’s Collegiate School of the Year race with schools earning valuable points towards the end of the year standings based on their catches.

“This event has really captured the attention of college anglers and it requires some strategy on when to weigh your fish and when not to weigh your fish. I’ve seen some sessions in the past won by fish that would not have even placed in other sessions and with this being Kentucky Lake in April, who knows what will come to the scales during any given session but you can bet it will be big with some of the best college fishing teams in the nation visiting the area for the event,” stated Wade Middleton, Director of the Association of Collegiate Anglers and the Cabela’s College Fishing Series.

The event is open to all collegiate fishing teams recognized by their university, and there is no entry fee to participate. Registration is officially open and can be found at: www.CollegiateBassChampionship.com/tournament-registrations.html.

Weigh in sessions will be held both days starting at 9:30AM and 11:30AM, 1:30PM and 3:30PM each day.
