Cabela’s Columbus will team up with Buckmasters on Sunday, March 9 from 10:00am – 5:00pm. This is an opportunity for hunters to bring their whitetail deer to Cabela’s and have it scored for free, as well as an opportunity for inclusion into the Buckmasters Trophy Records System.

Scoring will be conducted by Buckmasters Trophy Records Regional Director and master scorer Edson Waite, with 19 years of scoring experience. He has measured more than 3,000 sets of antlers, and more than 900 of the racks he has scored have been entered in the Buckmasters Trophy Records book.

“It’s great that Cabela’s is able to team up with Buckmasters to bring this exciting opportunity into the store,” said Derrek Shively, retail marketing manager. “This is sure to be an exceptional display of harvested whitetails from across the state.”

There is no required drying time with the Buckmasters system, so if a deer was taken at any time during the recent harvest seasons, it can be scored. The Buckmasters Trophy Record System uses a non-punitive method to measure deer antlers and gives credit to the entire amount of antler grown by the deer, and does not force the rack to conform to perfect symmetry as do other systems. Deductions in measurements are never taken in the BTR scoring system.

All hunters and outdoor enthusiasts are encouraged to stop by Cabela’s on Sunday even if you do not have antlers to score just to have the opportunity to share in the scoring camaraderie with other whitetail deer hunters.
