Midwest Chapter of Wild Sheep Celebrates 35 Years of Helping Put More Sheep on the Mountain

The Midwest Chapter of the Wild Sheep Foundation is poised to pull out all the stops in celebration of their 35th Anniversary.  Following up on the success of their 2013 Fundraiser, which saw the first ever South Dakota Wild Sheep tag auctioned for over six-figures, the group will be auctioning off Wild Sheep tags for South Dakota, North Dakota, Wyoming and Mexico.  In addition, attendees have the opportunity to bid on over 80 different items, including, premium hunts from quality outfitters for Deer, Elk, Moose, Mountain Goats, Caribou and more.  NEW for 2014, attendees will even have a chance to bid on an acclaimed Wyoming Shiras Moose tag.  All funds raised will be used for wildlife habitat, education and sportsmen’s rights.

Over the last 35 years, the group, based in Northfield, MN, has funded over $3,000,000 in research, management, and educational efforts to benefit all wild sheep in North America. Led by an all-volunteer Board of Directors, WSF-Midwest annually raises tens of thousands of dollars through the energy and efforts of conservation-minded sportsmen and women throughout the Midwest.

Chapter President, Curt Babler, is quick to point out that these once-in-a-lifetime hunt opportunities will help raise needed funds to assist rebuilding the bighorn sheep population across the country, in addition to supporting education and wildlife habitat.

“The success of our annual auction continues to build awareness and the funds needed to help benefit the health of the wild sheep population and, ultimately, affect the population numbers in a positive way,” said Babler. “To experience such ongoing success, for over 35 years, is a testament to our devoted volunteers and supporters.”

The one-day only event opens at noon on March 22rd at the Minneapolis Marriott Southwest, in Minnetonka, MN.  Afternoon auction begins at 1:00 pm, with dinner to follow at 5:30 p.m.  The evening auction and raffles begin at 6:30 pm.

Come join the Midwest Chapter of the Wild Sheep Foundation for a night of fun, food, and fellowship – and raise funds for wildlife habitat, education, and sportsmen’s rights!   Put MORE sheep on the mountain!
