New MINOX ZP Tactical Riflescopes Provide Ultimate Precision Performance

To meet the increased demand for maximum performance features and benefits, the German optical specialist MINOX has introduced the new ZP line of riflescopes. Developed in close cooperation with military and law enforcement specialists these new riflescopes are designed to meet all professional requirements.

Introduced at the recent IWA Outdoor Classics in Nuremberg, Germany, they are designed and manufactured with maximum precision and skillfully perfected down to the smallest detail.

From fast close-up shots up to the precision shot at long distances, for long-range hunting and shooting or for high-detail recognition over long distances, the new line of tactical riflescopes offers the right model for every application. Besides its flagship model, the MINOX ZP8 1-8×24, the line includes the ZP5 3-15×50 and the ZP5 5-25×56.

The new MINOX ZP8 is a riflescope of the highest standards and is excellently suited for a wide range of applications featuring an 8x magnification range, a high quality optical system, a combination of day-time illuminated red dot and twilight illuminated reticles, as well as outstanding ergonomics and extreme ruggedness.

It features a 34 mm main tube and a large field of view.  For fast and accurate aiming in unfavorable light conditions, the ZP8 is also fitted with a finely dimmable twilight illuminated tactical reticle in the first focal plane, in addition to the illuminated dot in the 2nd focal plane that automatically switches on when under 2.5x magnification for close range shooting. The reticle illumination can be adjusted in 9 levels of brightness, which improves the shooter’s ability to find the point of aim even in poor lighting and automatically switches off after 6 hours without operation.

The extended eye relief of 3.5 inches (90 mm) ensures a more accurate shot when situations demand the shooter to take aim fast. Also, the smooth magnification setting and easy-to-adjust rubber-armored eyepiece allow for quick focusing of the object in view.

All three of the new MINOX ZP models are watertight down to a depth of 29.5 feet (15 m) and are filled with inert argon gas for excellent protection and durability of the interior elements. The high-quality optical system and reliable precision mechanics are embedded in an extremely shock-resistant body of anodized special aluminum, commonly found in aerospace engineering. This makes the ZP models well suited for use in extremely tough conditions, such as hot desert areas, sub-tropical climates or regions with arctic low-temperatures. The new ZP riflescopes also feature a Zero Stop. This enables a fast and reliable zero setting at any time without having to look. With the Single Turn (ST) reticle adjustment, the selected setting can be viewed at any time.

The MINOX ZP8 1-8×24 is available with the following reticle systems: A8-D, MR 10 and MR 10+, has a retail price of $2,899 and will be available as of this spring.

In addition to the ZP8, the new ZP line also features the models ZP5 3-15×50 and ZP5 5-25×56, all with a 5x magnification range. Elevation adjustment is available as a double-turn turret. The turrets have a quick-release lever for quick and easy zero setting when out in the field. Both models have a 34 mm main tube and a large 28 mrad elevation adjustment range. The parallax adjustment enables error-free parallax adjustment of the scope from a distance of 50 m to infinity. The reticle illumination can be adjusted in 11 levels of brightness, which improves the shooter’s ability to find the point of aim even in poor lighting and automatically switches off after 6 hours without operation. The ZP5 3-15×50 and ZP5 5-25×56 are available with the following reticles: MR5, MR2 and Mildot. They have a retail price of $2,899 and will be available as of this fall.

For over 75 years, MINOX has been a leader in optical innovation and fine mechanics. Headquartered in the optics capital of Wetzlar, Germany, MINOX engineers, designs and produces an award winning array of high-performance optical devices from binoculars and riflescopes to cameras and night vision.
