New Book Takes Kids on an Exciting Mountain Adventure in Search of Elk

It’s no secret kids love the outdoors, especially here in Minnesota and bringing the outdoors alive in a new book series is proving to be a winning combination for Twin Cities Author Kevin Lovegreen.
He’s just released his sixth book in a series called “Lucky Luke’s Hunting Adventures.” The new easy-to-read book, called “The Muddy Elk,” takes kids on an adventure to the top of the mountains of Colorado in pursuit of majestic elk.
“My mission is to inspire kids to read, write and get outside to enjoy the great outdoors,” Lovegreen said.
His latest book is a father-son journey that features hard work, close encounters and enough adventure to draw in even the most stubborn readers. Luke applies his knowledge from past hunts and finds himself three steps away from a giant elk. It’s a standoff you won’t want to miss.
“We read a lot of books, but nothing has affected her like your books,” said Sandra, mother of a young daughter. “My child is consumed with the throws of excitement and can’t wait to turn the page to see what happens next. You truly have a special gift and hope you continue to share your passion.”

Kevin Lovegreen is an author and outdoor enthusiast, who has written six kid’s books: The Swamp, The Swamp EV, Turkey Tales, Winner, Winner Turkey Dinner, Fish On!, and now The Muddy Elk.
He’s found inspiration from his childhood journal, one that documents his hunting and fishing adventures. With that as his guide, Lovegreen has published the books in only three years and has passed on his passion for the outdoors to thousands of elementary students throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin.
