Easton Center in Salt Lake Opened by Olympic Champions

“This centre will create a seamless path from the introduction to archery through to top-level training,” says Greg EASTON.

The ribbon was shot – not cut – by four Olympic medallists at a VIP opening and luncheon on April 11th. It declared the new Easton Archery Centre in Salt Lake City officially open.

The next day, the centre was open to the public, who where treated to a tour of the facility, BBQ and an archery demonstration led by several top USA archers.

“We are excited to see the next step in our founder’s vision become a reality,” said Easton Foundation president Greg EASTON. “This centre is the first of its kind in many ways. It will increase archery participation and raise the skill of USA archers by creating a seamless path from the introduction to archery through top-level training.”

“We look forward to welcoming local, national, and international archers to Salt Lake City – and working with our sister centres in Newberry, Florida; Yankton, South Dakota; Chula Vista, California – the Olympic Training Centre – and our other affiliated venues.”

Barcelona 1992 Team Champion Juan-Carlos HOLGADO – who opened the centre with Olympian peers Jay BARRS, USA Archery CEO Denise PARKER and Jacob WUKIE – represented World Archery on behalf of President Prof Dr Ugur ERDENER, who had commitments at SportAccord Convention.

Through a video message, Prof Dr ERDENER congratulated the Easton Foundation on getting this state of the art archery centre built and operational.

The 60,000-square foot centre houses an indoor 70-metre range, 90-metre outdoor range with a 68-target capacity, 3D range, workshop, advanced testing, meeting and classrooms, a gym and a sports medicine room.
