Bass Pro Shops Go Outdoors’ Workshops and Activities Help Adults and Kids Make the Most of their Outdoor Adventures

For families who are looking to expand their outdoor adventures beyond the neighborhood park and pool, Bass Pro Shops free workshops and activities at their Go Outdoors event are the perfect place to learn the ropes and then gear up. The Go Outdoors event and sale, which will be held May 16-26 at Bass Pro Shops stores across the country*, offers how-to seminars, free giveaways, hot buys, and a chance to win an Ultimate Outdoors Giveaway.
During the Go Outdoors event the following free workshops, which are conducted by experts, will be held May 17-18:
- 11 a.m. – Pack, Pitch, Play: A basic guide to camping and survival. – The first 25 customers over the age of 18 to attend this workshop will receive a blue insulated tumbler.
- 1 p.m. – Wear it Right: 5 important steps for choosing and properly fitting a life jacket.
- 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. – Free cooking demos.
- 2 p.m. – Priorities of Survival (in cooperation with Bear Grylls and Gerber). – The first 25 customers over the age of 18 to attend this workshop will receive a survival multi-tool that includes a whistle, compass, flint for fire starting, and dry compartment for matches.
- 3 p.m. – Pack, Pitch, Play: A basic guide to camping and survival. – The first 25 customers over the age of 18 to attend this workshop will receive a blue insulated tumbler.
- 4 p.m. – Priorities of Survival (in cooperation with Bear Grylls and Gerber). – The first 25 customers over the age of 18 to attend this workshop will receive a survival multi-tool that includes a whistle, compass, flint for fire starting and dry compartment for matches.
On May 24-25, kids can enjoy several free hands-on activities including:
- 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. – BB Gun Shooting Range. Test your skills at the Bass Pro Shops/Daisy Shooting Range.
- 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Metal Detector Treasure Hunt: Kids are invited to “detect” anything hidden under the surface. Those who find a treasure can receive a prize, while supplies last.
- Beginning at 11 a.m. – Adventure Scavenger Hunt. Find conservation or wildlife items throughout the store. Find them all and receive a prize, while supplies last.
- 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Free photo downloads
- 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Free craft. Kids can color a camping magnet to take home, while supplies last.
For each activity completed, kids can take a card to an associate to get it punched. The first 100 kids to complete a punch card each day will get a free kids’ adventure whistle and a water bottle.
On May 24-25, kids can also participate in the following free workshops:
- 11 a.m. – Kids’ Adventures in Camping workshop will help young people explore their surroundings while camping.
- 1 p.m. – Kids’ Adventures in Camping workshop will help young people explore their surroundings while camping.
- 2 p.m. – Safe Passage! Tips on being safe around the water.
- 3 p.m. – Safe Passage! Tips on being safe around the water.
- 4 p.m. – Kids’ Adventures in Camping workshop will help young people explore their surroundings while camping.
