DECKED Pro Team Truck Customizer Wins Top Honors at Autocon

DECKED, manufacturers of full-sized pickup truck bed storage systems, today announced that Tim Grachen, professional truck customizer and DECKED ProTeam member, won “Finest Off-Road Vehicle” honors at the 2014 AutoCon Show in Pomona, Calif., April 26. His 2012 Toyota Tundra named “Silver Bullet” competed against dozens of trucks at the show and his was voted as the best due to its clean customization and the inclusion of the DECKED system mounted in the bed of the truck. This is Grachen’s seventh customized vehicle and he previously worked as a customizer for vehicles displayed at the annual Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show held annually in Las Vegas.

“We are proud to congratulate Tim on his win and compliment his use of the DECKED system in the ‘Silver Bullet’ at the AutoCon show. His truck has a very clean look, and is still functional, which is why it stood out among the competition. DECKED helped display that functionality by showing that a truck can look great and still be practical,” said Lee Roquet, Marketing Manager for DECKED. “Most of our ProTeam consists of professional athletes, so it’s very exciting to have a pro truck customizer on our team. We look forward to seeing Tim’s dominance with his truck and DECKED system in all of the future shows he’s planning to enter.”

DECKED makes systems that fit nearly every full-size pickup truck made since the late 1990s which includes trucks made by Ford, Chevrolet, GMC, RAM, Toyota and Nissan. They fit all short and standard bed lengths while still giving the truck owner great use of their truck bed. The DECKED system is the perfect truck bed storage system for any hunter, fisherman or outdoorsman with a full size pickup truck. The system is also great for tradesmen who need convenient access to a large amount of tools and equipment in the bed of their pickup trucks. The system offers secure, weatherproof storage while still retaining the functional use of the bed. The deck of the system can support up to 2,000 pounds of cargo and each drawer can hold 200 pounds of equipment.

“I can’t tell you how excited I am that Silver Bullet won ‘Finest Off-Road Vehicle’ honors at AutoCon. There were a lot of great trucks on display but the ‘Bullet’ was picked as the winner. And what made the win even better was that I had a DECKED system in the bed. It showed the truck could still be used as a truck which was important to the judges,” said Tim Grachen, owner of Silver Bullet. “As someone born and raised in Southern California, I have always had a passion for the truck scene. I recently suffered an injury playing sports so I decided to get back into the truck customization profession after taking an extended break. This award shows that I still have what it takes to be a top customizer in this sport and I’m excited that DECKED got to be a part of it.”
