Youth Target Foundation Donates to MidwayUSA Foundation
Furthering the efforts to support youth shooting sports, the Youth Target Foundation (YTF) recently donated $290,000 to the MidwayUSA Foundation’s Team Endowment Account Program. This donation will benefit 36 youth shooting teams that hold active Team Endowment Accounts and stems from the YTF North Regionals, where 242 athletes competed in Fort Worth, Texas at the end of April.
Shellee Enfinger, YTF Vice President, said, “At YTF, we give teams the stability structure and the rest of the program is athlete lead. We collaborate with MidwayUSA Foundation to provide a way for young athletes to lead, raise money for their teams and secure lasting programs.”
YTF is a non-profit organization that promotes and protects the traditions of target sports through training parents, coaches, volunteers and our youth to respect, conserve and love the outdoor sports, while facilitating family bonds in a safe and educational environment. Located in Texas, the Foundation has grown exponentially and their partnership with the MidwayUSA Foundation has been successful in offering financial assistance to shooting teams.
Like other sports, shooting teams offer many great opportunities for our youth to the make friends, build confidence, learn discipline, leadership skills and more, however many schools and communities have little or no funding for shooting teams. The MidwayUSA Foundation has stepped up to assist in lifting this financial burden. Active teams within the MidwayUSA Foundation can apply for a grant each year to use for team expenses, such as ammunition, range fees, travel, uniforms and more. This YTF donation not only allows both organizations to accomplish their goals, but also brings youth involved in shooting sports closer to sustainable support.
Larry Potterfield, Founder and CEO of MidwayUSA says, “Working together increases the likelihood of continued success for these teams and these kids.”
