Sportsman Channel’s “Amazing America with Sarah Palin” Finale Brings Medal of Honor Recipient Dakota Meyer to Alaska

The season finale of Amazing America with Sarah Palin brings decorated war hero Dakota Meyer to Sarah Palin’s picturesque home state of Alaska, where he shares his moving story of being the youngest living Medal of Honor recipient. But first, Meyer gets an exclusive, up-close and personal glimpse into the life of the “First Lady of the Outdoors.” Meet Palin’s family and check out her parents’ home on the season finale of Sportsman Channel’s Amazing America with Sarah Palin, Thursday, May 29 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

From touring her childhood homestead – with its undeniably massive lure collection and animal trophies – to ATVing through the Alaskan wild, Palin gives Meyer and viewers a glimpse of Alaska few have had the opportunity to experience – including a bird’s-eye view from Mt. Baldy. Palin knows her love of Alaska and the great outdoors, cultivated by her childhood, is a freedom afforded to every American because of the sacrifices U.S. servicemen and women, like Meyer, make every day.

“Getting to know Dakota Meyer reminded me that many of the folks that we consider to be heroes are really just like you and me,” said Palin. “What drives people to put themselves in danger’s way, to go the extra mile for their fellow man? I’m not sure, but it’s safe to say that we’re all thankful that they do.”
