“Saving Private K-9” Marathon Coverage Featured This Week on Sportsman Channel, 7 p.m.

New episode of “Saving Private K-9” on Thurs., June 5 at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT tells the story of gunfire putting a K-9 and handler’s training to the ultimate test
Sportsman Channel will air marathon coverage of the acclaimed, new show “Saving Private K-9” throughout the Week of June 2at 7 p.m. ET/PT. The show is hosted by actor and former Marine R. Lee Ermey (Full Metal Jacket).
Thursday’s new episode features Deputy Richard Klaysmat and Kenzo, a German shepherd, of the Palm Beach County Sherriff’s office. The pair is called to a crime scene in the Casa Del Monte Mobile Home Park to apprehend a fleeing suspect who reportedly shot a woman. The long-time partners have worked together for years, but their bond is put to the ultimate test when Kenzo’s bravery places him in a direct line of fire. Saving Private K-9 airs exclusively on Sportsman Channel, Thursday, June 5 at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT.
Deputy Klaysmat and Kenzo use their years of training experience to search for the shooting suspect who fled the scene in Palm Beach, FL. The suspect is nowhere in sight until Kenzo’s behavior suddenly changes. From there, Klaysmat knows they’re heading in the right direction. The suspect’s location is revealed moments later, when a slew of gunshots head straight for the deputy and his K-9 partner.
“Kenzo isn’t your average police dog – he sets the standards for police dogs,” said Klaysmat. “Kenzo is my hero and he is everyone’s hero. If you ever meet him, you’ll know why. I’ll never forget that dog.”
