Wiley X Inc. Reminds “All of US” to Stay Focused on Safety All Year

When June rolls around each year, however, Wiley X gets especially “focused” on the subject of safety – and this year is no exception.
Across America, June is National Safety Month, an educational and awareness campaign put on by the National Safety Council. The council puts out a variety of materials and resources designed to help people stay safe and prevent accidental injuries on the job and
in everyday life.
The theme for 2014 National Safety Month is “Safety: It Takes All of Us” – and this couldn’t fit better with Wiley X’s philosophy about vision protection. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, an estimated 1,000 eye injuries occur in American workplaces every day. Their findings also conclude that 90% of these injuries could be prevented with the use of proper protective eyewear. “Throughout the year, we drive home the importance of wearing proper eye protection on the job and during all outdoor activities,” said Wiley X Co-Owner Myles Freeman, Jr. “The U.S. Department of Labor also reports that nearly three out of every five workers injured were not wearing eye protection at the time of accident. These numbers prove that the best protection in the world can’t help you if you’re not wearing it.
