Warm Springs Production today announced the upcoming premiere of their new series American River Renegades, which will be airing on Animal Planet Sunday, June 15th at 9 pm Eastern Time.
“We always strive to highlight authentic American Lifestyles in our shows,” said Marc Pierce, Managing Partner of Warm Springs Productions. “These guys are living off of the rivers and providing for their families and their villages. They’re fascinating characters and it’s exciting to share their experiences with a larger audience.”
American River Renegades follows the lives of four modern day rivermen from different parts of the country. These men battle the ebb and flow of some of America’s most dangerous rivers and tributaries. Their daily struggles include everything from devastating floods to the nuisances of wild animals such as wild boars, alligators, and venomous snakes.
The characters include: Kip Benoit, and his lifelong friend Big Ward, who use their Cajun ingenuity in the Louisiana backwaters to catch everything that hops, flies, bites or crawls in order to survive; Ricky Jayroe a 5th generation riverman who makes a living and feeds his family off of the PeeDee river in South Carolina; Mike Valley, one of the last remaining commercial fishermen in the state of Wisconsin, who struggles to keep his family business afloat; and PJ Simon, 2nd chief of a remote Alaska tribe, uses traditional hunting and fishing techniques not only to provide for his family but an entire village as well.
“These guys are all unique that in the contrast to the fast paced, tech driven world most of us live in,” added Chris Richardson, President of Warm Springs Productions. “They make their living off of the skills they’ve learned from their ancestors, who have spent decades, and even centuries, around the rivers. Our staff brought some incredibly stories to life in this series while filming in sometimes very difficult locations.”
Based in Missoula, Montana, Warm Springs Productions has experienced meteoric growth since its founding in 2008 and has grown its staff to over 80 employees. In 2014, the company will produce television for a wide variety of networks including Outdoor Channel, Sportsman Channel, Travel, History, Animal Planet, Discovery Science, National Geographic Wild, HGTV, FYI, Fox News, Destination America and more.
