The only USA Team to compete in the World Predator Classic, global fishing event is comprised of leaders Larysa Switlyk and Captain Patrick Crawford.
Larysa Switlyk is no stranger to competing in these international events. She has been the Team USA captain in the World Catfish Classic and twice captain for the World Carp Classic within the last two years.
Switlyk is the host of Larysa Unleashed on the Sportsman Channel and Destination America, a hunting and fishing show with the goal of getting more women and children involved in the outdoors.
Captain Patrick Crawford is a full time saltwater fishing guide for Allure Fishing Charters in Charleston, SC. He is an avid tournament angler on the redfish tour circuit and excited to be representing Team USA in this upcoming event.
If these two faces look familiar to you there’s a good reason. They were both competitors of the hit reality fishing competition show on Animal Planet called Top Hooker. Crawford took the title and won the competition. Shortly after the two teamed up for the Team Bass Pro Shops, Madfin Shark Series, airing now on the Outdoor Channel.
The two, making up Team USA are proud to have the support of Livingston Lures behind for the World Predator Classic. Livingston Lures is a leader in the fishing industry, introducing the first and only lure to emit the sound of a live baitfish within a hard plastic lure. This Electronic Baitfish Sound technology (EBS™) was Randy Howell’s choice to throw which helped him win the 2014 Bassmaster Classic. Now Team USA plans to use this cutting edge technology to their advantage at the international tournament.
The World Predator Classic is a huge 3 day event with 52 teams from 16 different countries competing to catch Pike, Zander and Perch. Hosted in Hellevoetsluis, Netherlands on June 19-22, 2014, this event is best described as the formula one of fishing: fast paced and action packed. From street parades, boat parades and rock concerts, there isn’t a dull moment for these anglers. The event has become so popular that they have even add a kayak and street fishing class to the line-up of tournaments as well.
Switlyk and Crawford are excited to represent Team USA at the World Predator Classic and to have Livingston Lures as their sponsor. Crawford stated, “I feel that using Livingston Lures will give us an upper hand in this event. It’s proven fish just can’t resist them.” Larysa expounded on this stating, “I feel so blessed and honored to have the support of Livingston Lures behind Team USA. The advanced technology in Livingston Lures is going to make a big difference. Livingston Lures will be our secret weapon in Europe and I can’t wait to throw them or rather ‘unleash’ them on the Pike, Zander and Perch in the Netherlands.”
Switlyk and Crawford are determined to represent Team USA well, and in a way have already successfully done that with teaming up with the #BESOMEBODY campaign. The #BESOMEBODY message is one of the fastest growing social media movements which they believe, “It’s a lifestyle, not a destination.”
It is all about never holding back, finding your passion and chasing your dreams. Most importantly to never give up, persevere ahead and help other to do the same. This is something that both of these angler know all about since they have turned their passion into their professions, encouraging others to do the same.
In addition to Livingston Lures, Team USA will be sponsored by Eagle Claw Fishing. The team plans to use Eagle Claw Lazor Sharp Hooks, along with Trokar Hooks along with Wright McGill Rods and Reels. One thing is for sure you won’t be able to miss the team in their custom jerseys with the American flag and bald eagle worn proudly on their chests.
“Valley Fashions went above and beyond on our team jerseys for this event. They worked in full force to insure we received the jerseys in time & their design team was spot on with my vision! I love how the Livingston Lures logo pops on them! No question about it, we will definitely be best dressed thanks to Valley Fashions!” divulged Switlyk.
Valley Fashions is a Canada based company that is known for making great custom apparel and displays. Make sure to keep up with Team USA’s adventure! They will be posting updates on their social media pages, Livingston Lures Facebook page, and World Predator Classic’s Facebook page, which will give you times you can actually watch the tournament via livestreaming.
