Because Viking prides itself on designing and manufacturing almost every component in house, its use of Sea-Fire products is high praise indeed. “Over the years, Viking has tried other fire suppression system manufacturers for certain applications,” said Metz. “But we’re now back to installing Sea-Fire on every one of the boats we build today. The engineering, sales and customer service support we get from Sea-Fire has been fantastic. We feel their product line is the best out there for the pleasure marine market.”
Pre-Engineered FD Model Series fire suppression systems from Sea-Fire are included as standard equipment on all Viking boats between 42′ and 62′. The FD Model Series employs lightweight, corrosion-resistant, USCG-approved canisters. Viking also uses Sea-Fire Engineered H-Series Fire Suppression systems on all its models from 66′ to 92′. Fully customizable with a variety of options, the H-Series is tested and approved in accordance with IMO/SOLAS requirements. Additionally, Viking protects small, hard-to-reach areas, such as the space over fuel tanks, with Sea-Fire Stinger Fire Extinguishers.
