Featuring Ryan Lipinski and Addie Lamon in rural Pennsylvania
One thing many preppers and survivalists have in common is their belief that something will occur to knock out the grid – they just aren’t sure when it will happen. On this week’s episode of America Unplugged, Ryan Lipinski and wife Addie will show viewers how to prepare themselves to live “off the grid.” Tune in to America Unplugged, exclusively on Sportsman Channel, Thursday, June 26 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
Ryan knows about teamwork from his two tours in the U.S. Army – one tour serving as a communications specialist, and a second as a combat medic. While he and his wife, Addie, are not completely self-reliant, they are well on their way. “For most people, I wouldn’t call self-reliance dead, but forgotten,” said Ryan Lipinski. “We can go six months without having to do anything. If we went out hunting, we could make it to a total of nine months.”
Ryan and Addie live in a 480-square-foot home complete with a 100-watt solar system, wind turbine, and running water system they invented. The team will show viewers how they forage for fruit, make tools from the wilderness, and how to build a survival shelter under duress.
Throughout the eight-week series, former U.S. Navy SEAL/Sniper Cade Courtley highlights unique and fascinating stories of those who have ‘pulled the plug.’ Courtley’s goal is to become the “American face of survival.” The former U.S. Navy SEAL/Sniper and Security Contractor has spent more than 15 years in some of the most hostile places on the planet and has produced/written/acted/hosted/consulted for successful Hollywood films and television shows, as well as authored the 2012 book: “A Navy SEAL’s Secrets to Surviving Any Disaster.”
The host will share his unique experiences and add perspective as to why many Americans are living off the grid. Sportsman Channel is partnering with A. Smith & Co. Productions’ executive producers Arthur Smith, Kent Weed, Frank Sinton and Michael Braverman on a project that will deliver real stories from real people. A. Smith & Co. America Unplugged airs exclusively on Sportsman Channel on Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
