HIVIZ Shooting Systems Sponsors Fundraiser for Special Operation Warrior Foundation

HIVIZ Shooting Systems was proud to sponsor the First Annual “Warrior Shootout” pistol competition and fundraiser held in Laramie, WY. The purpose of this event was a fund raiser and to increase awareness of the Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF). SOWF primary programs are to provide immediate financial assistance to special operations personnel severely wounded in combat and to provide the means for surviving children of fallen Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps special operations personnel to attend college.
The Warrior Shootout event raised $5,500 with assistance and support from industry partners Ruger, Leupold, Grovtec, Makhaira Group, and several local organizations. Scott Steiert, HIVIZ Public Relations Coordinator and Retired Army Special Operations Soldier was a beneficiary of SOWF funds when he was injured in Afghanistan in 2010. He organized the fundraiser as a way to give back to the organization.
SOWF invited Steiert to their headquarters in Tampa, FL for a small ceremony. Attendees included, General Pete Schoomaker, Retired Chief of Staff, US Army, Joseph Maguire, Vice Admiral, US Navy, (Ret), President/CEO of SOWF, Steven Mcleary Major, USAF (Ret), SWOF Executive Director, Mark Boyett, Recovery Care Coordinator for United States Special Operation Command (USSOCOM), and Kay Leonard, Chief of Protocol, USSOCOM.
Admiral Maguire offered his appreciation and noted: “Special Operations Warrior Foundation is honored to accept the HIVIZ donation and appreciate seeing one of the soldiers that we worked with doing so well and giving back.”
