The 2014 MGM Targets Jr. Shooters Camp at Parma Rod and Gun Club was a resounding success. The success of this year’s event was due largely to the great efforts of the instructors and the great reputations they hold – Several highly accomplished and celebrated shooters generously contribute their time to lead nearly 60 promising young shooters who traveled from all corners of America for this very special event and opportunity.
Dedicated to preserving the American tradition of shooting and firearm safety and the 2nd amendment, this year’s MGM Junior Shooter Camp was held July 20-22 2014. The MGM Junior Shooter Camp offers premier firearm training and competition for Junior Shooters presented by top shooters from US military, law enforcement and competitive shooting disciplines.
Graciously hosted by The Parma Rod and Gun Club, an expansive and versatile 160 acre facility in southwestern Idaho featuring 12 pistol pits, 5 rifle bays and long range rifle to 1000 yards, and a small bore range, most with covered firing lines. There is a trap shotgun area as well. This year, 56 young shooters ranging in age from 9-18 enjoyed world class training, camaraderie, and an outstanding shooting experience. Shooters and their families traveled from 20 U. S. states to participate – One family traveled from Virginia for the premier opportunity. Of the 56 shooters, 24 were first time campers eager to learn from the best. Returning and first time instructors included elite and champion shooters such as Travis Tomasie, Chuck Anderson assisted by Brian Nelson, Eddie Garcia, Manny Bragg, Steve Shroufe and Matt Burkett and others who add to the depth of knowledge shared at the event.
