This year’s IPSC Rifle Swedish Nationals, held July 27-28 in the northern Swedish town of Östersund, saw a great showing for JP Enterprises in the winner’s circle and among several of the top finishers.
While the high score from the 116 competitors went to Norwegian Kenneth Salen, the top Swedish finishers in this Level III competition were all shooting JP rifles: 1st place Johan Hansen with a PSC-11, 2nd place Gustav Persson with an SCR-11, and 3rd place Lars-Tony Skoog with a PSC-11.
Persson is the owner-operator of GP Rifle, a major dealer of firearms and accessories in Sweden and the premier dealer of JP Enterprises rifles and components for the entire country. GP also sponsors a highly competitive shooting team, which includes Person himself, first-place finisher Johan Hansen and several other competitors in various shooting sports.
With little direct prompting, the JP brand has gained high profile and popularity particularly among the Swedish shooting community in recent years. As a major JP proponent, Persson himself made the trip to Minnesota in early 2013 to receive comprehensive training from senior JP gunsmiths for the demanding construction and servicing expectations of JP rifles so that GP Rifle could better service its customers and shooters back home. Since then, the relationship between the companies has been strong with GP serving as the conduit for numerous JP rifles and components to reach Swedish shooters.
“I really need to make it out to one of these Swedish matches in the next few years,” said John Paul, founder of JP Enterprises. “They look like great events, and it’s amazing to see how much we’ve been embraced by that community. Gustav [Persson] has really done great things for us and is just a fantastic partner.”
