Dove hunting season opens in Texas South and Central Zones this weekend (September 1, 2014).  The season begins September 19, 2014 in the South Zone and Special White-winged Dove Area.

A Hunter Education certificate is required for all hunters born on or after September 2, 1971.  Minimum age of certification is 9 years of age.

Texas Hunter Ed Course features the Easy Learning System, a proven and effective method for quick and easy learning.  The Easy Learning System uses narration that matches the printed word within the course.  Photos that replicate the realism of the field support the lessons. Interactive exercises bring the fun of interactive animations to a student’s learning.

The Power of Three Learning Process teaches a student to be a safe and ethical hunter in three easy steps:  1) Learn 2) Practice 3) Earn.

After taking the official Texas Parks & Wildlife (TPWD) and International Hunter Education Association (IHEA-USA) approved hunter safety course, a student is able to print their temporary student hunter education card and hunt the same day.  TPWD will then send the new hunter their permanent hunter education card through the mail.
