Sportsman’s “Saving Private K-9” nominated in Best Show or Series Animals/Nature
Saving Private K-9, the Sportsman Channel original series, recently was nominated for a Cablefax Program Award in the Best Show or Series Animals/Nature category. The Cablefax Program Awards will be presented at the Loews Hollywood on October 14.
Saving Private K-9, hosted by actor and former Marine R. Lee Ermey (Full Metal Jacket), invites viewers into the lives of military and law enforcement service dogs and their handlers. Each episode of Saving Private K-9 highlights the dog’s battlefield training, heroic accomplishments, as well as their impact on those who have worked with them. Additionally, the show focuses on the dogs’ lives post-service, which often involves rigorous rehabilitation and adoption. The series is produced by Pilgrim Studios with Craig Piligian (executive producer), Brett Boydstun and Jacob Shelton.
“Sportsman Channel’s recognition by Cablefax of this great original series is a true honor when stacked up against all the great competition,” said Marc Fein, executive vice president of programming and production at Sportsman Channel. “The Cablefax Program Awards nomination is industry recognition of the top shows on cable and reflects the hard work and dedication of our Sportsman Channel team and Pilgrim Studios.”
