Woodcock Limited, a 501(3) non-profit conservation organization dedicated towards research and habitat enhancements for the American woodcock is excited to welcome Joe Healy as the new Editor of Woodcock Limited’s magazine, Skydance. Joe brings a wealth of experience to the position, having worked at a number of outdoor periodicals including Covey Rise magazine, Outdoor Life, Fly Rod and Reel, Saltwater Fly Fishing, among others.
Healy worked with the Woodcock Limited management team to transition Skydance from a 7×10, saddle-stitched newsletter to an 8 ½ x 11, perfect-bound magazine. Regular columns have been filled by award-winning writers and photographers: Lars Jacob, Tim Flanigan, Chip Laughton, Tom Keer, and Reid Bryant, among others. The twice-annual publication receives a new delivery date complete with a seasonal focus. Fall/Winter lands in home during early September with a bird hunting them while Spring/Summer issue arrives in home during early March with a habitat/conservation focus. Skydance will communicate Woodcock Limited’s activities and projects while providing readers with coverage on all things woodcock-related.
“I couldn’t be more pleased with the exponential growth we made in 2014,” said Woodcock Limited President Joe Faux. “With Healy on board we’ll take our communication efforts to the next level and we can return to our main focus now of new member recruitment and fundraising to support our conservation and research projects. Hunters and conservationists interested in helping Woodcock Limited create a mosaic of sustainable habitat can visit our new website at www.woodcocklimited.org.
