OutdoorHub 09.29.14
FLW has announced that the 2014 BFL Chevy Wild Card tournament will take place at Kentucky/Barkley lakes on Oct. 24 – 25. The event will launch from Moors Resort & Marina, located at 570 Moors Road in Gilbertsville, Kentucky.
In order to be eligible to fish the no-entry-fee BFL Chevy Wild Card tournament, anglers must have entered all five events within a BFL division during the 2014 season. In addition, anglers who have already qualified for a BFL regional are ineligible.
During the BFL Chevy Trucks Wild Card tournament, the full field competes both days, with winners determined by the heaviest two-day catch. The top six boater and top six co-angler finishers advance to the 2015 BFL All-American presented by Chevy based on accumulated weight.
New this year, the Wild Card will feature a free cookout with hourly door prizes during registration, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23. The weigh-ins will also be streamed live each day on FLW Live.
The 2014 BFL Chevy Wild Card tournament is being hosted by the Kentucky Lake Convention & Visitors Bureau and Moors Resort & Marina. Tournament entries will be accepted beginning Monday, Sept. 29 at 9 a.m. EST, and will end Thursday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. EST. You may enter by phone at (270) 252-1000 or onsite at the pre-tournament meeting.
The BFL is a 24-division circuit devoted to weekend anglers, with 120 tournaments throughout the season, five in each division. The top 40 boaters and co-anglers from each division qualify for a regional tournament and compete to finish in the top six, which then qualifies them for one of the longest-running championships in all of competitive bass fishing – the Walmart BFL All-American presented by Chevy. Top winners in the BFL can move up to the Rayovac FLW Series or even the Walmart FLW Tour.
