Feld Motor Sports announced that GoPro, Inc. has signed on as the official camera and technical supplier of the 2014 Monster Energy Cup. GoPro will offer all competitors the option to use cameras to capture their laps for review at the Monster Energy Cup at Sam Boyd Stadium on October 18.
New to this year’s race, GoPro will provide race fans and television audiences with the most immersive perspective possible by capturing the rider’s viewpoint for broadcast with GoPro Track Previews during the live telecast on FOX Sports 2, in addition to the next-day air on FOX Sports 1 (Oct 19), and the network debut on FOX (Oct 25).
“We are excited to have GoPro back as a sponsor of the Monster Energy Cup this year,” said Todd Jendro, vice president of two wheel operations, Feld Motor Sports. “GoPro is helping us change the game on the way we view and interact with the Television Broadcast and live event with their technical advancements. Millions of viewers will get an incredible track perspective onboard and through the lens of the new GoPro Hero 4 camera.”
With GoPro being the official technical supplier of the Monster Energy Cup for the first time, GoPro will also have a rig set up in the pit party for fans to see the all new HERO4 line of cameras and family of accessories and will have specialists on-site to demonstrate the entire product line.
“Our continued partnership with Feld Motor Sports is unique because it benefits both athlete and fan. As the official camera of Monster Cup, GoPro offers fans the most immersive perspective possible of the most exciting racing in motorsports, and as the technical provider, GoPro enables racers to maximize their practice laps by capturing and reviewing content before the race,” said Todd Ballard, GoPro’s Director of Global Sports Marketing.
GoPro HERO4 cameras will be capturing the racers’ perspective so the fans can experience the highly technical Monster Energy Cup track as if they were on the bike.
