Mikkel Haarup Signed as 85CC KTM Factory Supported Rider

KTM Racing has announced the signing of 13-year-old Danish rider Mikkel Haarup as a factory-supported rider in the 85cc class. He will be part of the KTM Junior Program, the breeding ground for factory riders of the future.

Mikkel will race in the EMX85, the ADAC Cup in Germany and the 2015 85cc Junior World Championship.

Born and raised in Silkeborg Denmark, the young Danish talent rode his first bike at aged three and has been racing since he turned six. He was a heat winner in the 2014 Junior World championship in Belgium and won the ADAC Junior Cup this season. Mikkel also took second place last year in the Red Bull Give Me Five competition in Madrid, Spain.

Rasmus Jorgensen, Mikkel’s manager and trainer said it was a big step for both Mikkel and his family. “It’s a huge opportunity and I have no doubt that with these people behind him, he will achieve all his goals in the future,” he said.
