“Balancing Act” explores the lives of everyday hunters
Memphis, Tenn. – June 8, 2015 – Work, family and other commitments can make it difficult for many hunters to find time to get out in the field. The latest installment in DU’s new online film series explores the lives of two hunters who are balancing multiple demands on their time while still making hunting a priority.
“Balancing Act” visits Joel Yeldell, a police officer, and Eric Massey, a software sales manager. Both are avid hunters with young families and busy careers.
“People always ask me, ‘how do you find the time?’” says Massey. “My family is my priority and that’s my first priority, but you have to have a passion. And chasing waterfowl is a passion of mine.”
“Life is all about balance,” says Yeldell. “One thing that our wives and families do realize is that for us to be 100 percent of who we are and to kind of re-energize, we’ve got to go hunting.”
Produced in partnership with Rock Road Creative, DU Films goes beyond the confines and formulas of traditional hunting shows, presenting the beauty and passion of waterfowling in new and unexpected ways. DU Films includes six short films airing on the DU website this spring. Viewers can watch the first four films and find more information about the series at www.ducks.org/dufilms. New films will be released each month through July.
DU Films is made possible through sponsorships from Sitka Gear, Buck Gardner Calls and The Original Muck Boot Company.
