At the end of 2015, Ruger announced the release of its American Pistol. The storied US gunmaker’s jump into the striker-fired, polymer-framed market has been welcomed by many.

But how does the gun, which will retail for $579, stack up to the competition? BurstReview‘s Jim Grant had an opportunity to evaluate one prior to the formal announcement and published a comprehensive video review on the new pistol just before the turn of the year.
