Why I jumped into the world of the .260 Remington With the Daniel Defense DD5V5

In this video, we’ll take a look at the .260 Remington, lay out the .260 vs. the 6.5 Creedmor debate, and talk about the Daniel Defense DD5V5 Chambered in .260 Remington.

If you have found yourself waking up in cold sweats stressing about the current state of the ammo market, you are not alone. A tornado of unfortunate events has descended on the ammo supply chain, wreaking havoc on our ability to purchase ammo and get a good nights sleep. We’ve seen this type of market reaction before and we will certainly see it again, but that doesn’t make the current environment any easier to cope with.

Whether you are a sport shooter, hunter, or stockpiler for the end times; you have undoubtedly found yourself staring at empty shelves and sky high prices on almost all calibers of ammunition at big box retailers and online stores. With so much drama in the ammo market, you may be wondering what a hunter is to do? When faced with this question, I decided it was time to broaden my horizons. After a few trips to the store, I saw one caliber that was always in stock. That caliber was the .260 Remington.

When the .260 was first introduced way back in late 90’s it was paired with rifles that would never allow it to reach it’s full potential. Those rifles had high twist rates and short barrels which greatly impacted the accuracy of the round and also it’s adoption. About a decade later, the 6.5 Creedmor came to market and undercut the .260’s chances of becoming a widely used round in the hunting and sport shooting universe.

Even though the .260 didn’t reach it’s full potential when it was released, it maintained enough of a following to continue the mass market production required to hit the shelves.
