Review: 5.11 Tactical Women’s Blayr Bomber Jacket

When I received this jacket, it was dead of summer here in TX so I was so sad that I couldn’t wear it until it got cooler in October – maybe.

Anyway, we had the chance to go off roading and camping in the mountains of Colorado for a week and I was able to wear it!

I had the 5.11 Blayr Bomber Jacket on the first day we were there and I didn’t take it off! It was 50s the entire trip and I was comfortable in this jacket.

Let me just say, I’ve tried a lot of bomber jackets in the past. I’m a petite woman and they always looked big and boxy on me. It really frustrated me because I love the bomber jacket style.

But the Blayr Bomber Jacket not only fits perfectly, but it’s also so comfortable and functional.

It has a top left zipper pocket which is handy for small things like cash, chapstick, things like that.

There are two other pockets, they both have zippers and they’re quite roomy. I really love that all the pockets have zippers, when my hands aren’t in them, I have them zipped up. Keeps all the contents inside the pockets nice and secure.

Though this is a comfortable jacket in 50 degree weather, it’s also flexible and fairly lightweight. It doesn’t feel like a heavy cold weather cold. Move easily and freely with this one while also staying warm.

Something I’ve noticed about a lot of 5.11’s gear lately is the discreet logo placement on their clothing. This has two logos, one on the upper back, which basically blends into the jacket, and another on a metal emblem near the left pocket. Neither one of them scream 5.11, but I know I’m wearing quality.

MSRP is $78.00 and comes in black or green. I’m a huge fan of the green, but hey, if black is your thing, it looks just as slick.

I’m going to be wearing this Blayr Bomber Jacket every chance I get during cold weather. Don’t miss out on this jacket!
