Demo Nation – Hunting Dinosaurs with the Banish 30 Gold

On this Demo Nation, we head back to Central Florida in the peak of the summer heat to hunt Gators. We take some of our most trusted tools along for the trip, including the Silencer Central Banish 30 Gold.

When it comes to hunting, we often find ourselves planning trips that are aspirational and focus on game such as trophy whitetail deer or elk. The traditional game of the United States big game hunter is something that most can agree is often times challenging, but holds a special place in their heart. When you start to branch out from your comfort zone, you can experience some really unique and fun hunts chasing exotic animals in Texas or gators down in Florida. We try to sprinkle some of these non traditional hunts in to the mix every year to keep things exciting and this year was no different. We headed back to Central Florida to hunt the closest thing to dinosaurs you can find in the US, alligators!

Banish 30 Gold Gators

If you haven’t been on the hunt for gators, it’s something every hunter should experience at least once in the lifetime. The entire experience is a wild ride and really can give you a different perspective on what guys outside of the mountain West or Midwest do for fun. When we first arrived at the outfitters, we had the opportunity to confirm zero and off we went in a swamp buggy with wheels that looked like something you would see in a monster truck rally. After some time spotting the channels and small ponds in the hunting grounds, we zeroed in on our prey and hopped out on foot to bag our gators.

Gator hunting is an interesting mix of casting and blasting that I was not quite ready for the first time I found myself in Florida on one of these hunts. When you identify your gator, the guide will cast with a fishing pole rigged with a very large treble hook and with the hook is set, he’ll reel your gator in to shore. Once within a good range, you set your shot and place the round directly behind it’s skull. Without casting and reeling the gator in, it is very likely that your gator could disappear in to the murky water never to be seen again.

Casting

Like all of our other trips, we sport products that we like using and help us enhance our hunts. We’ve been extremely fortunate to partner with Silencer Central over the last couple of years and adding suppressors to our arsenal has not only been a boost for our success rates but, it has also made our hunts more enjoyable. Adding a suppressor to your hunting rig brings a number of benefits, most importantly helping to keep your hearing safe year after year. We’ve heard from almost every guide and outfitter we have hunted with that they love when their hunts show up with sup[pressed rifles. Let’s dive in to the suppressor we used on this trip, the Banish 30 Gold from Silencer Central.
