Odds are, if it is worth sending off to a professional taxidermist, it’s worth remembering. When done correctly, taxidermy is a time-honored art that restores harvested animals to near life-like perfection. From the glint in that buck’s eyes to the moisture on its nose, a great taxidermist is an expert at paying attention to the details. However, some projects turn out…not as well. We’re not exactly sure what happened to these specimens, but the end results range from hilarious to terrifying.

  1. The first couple made me laugh, but as I continued it turned into disgust. The expressions they tried to recreate on the “accidents” we’re ridiculous, particularly the bear cub. Even if found dead it shouldn’t have been done, especially like that. Then the ones that were turned into cartoons, you people are disturbed……. You could at least have respected the animal and tried to do it right. The fact that some people actually find it humorous is a shame. That kind of sick joke does not paint a very good picture of outdoors people. Let alone the impression of taxidermy as an art. When done well it is an art, that respects nature and the specimen.

    1. Don’t think they “tried” to recreate it, i just think the poor people who wanted to have some taxidermy done got a god awful taxidermist.

I plan on doing taxidermy for a career, so this is a good way to learn from other people’s mistakes.

      1. do you think they are a mistake or people actually wanted them that way..can’t see a taxidermist making mistakes like these..regardless they are hideous..
