Bass fishing legend Skeet Reese has teamed up with KastKing to develop his new signature series of fishing reels. The Skeet Reese ICON reel is touted as the perfect combination of “lightweight” and “power”. The reel comes in two spinning versions and one bait caster model.
Reese jumped on board the KastKing train after KastKing president Al Noraker convinced Reese of how great KatKing products are. “I worked extensively with KastKing president, Al Noraker before he came to KastKing so we had a great relationship. I didn’t know a lot about their product line but Al kept telling me how great their products were. He sent me some of their reels and I was blown away by the quality and smoothness of the reels.”
The ION Baitcasting reel has a lightweight, durable, aluminum frame with carbon fiber side plates. The reel is superlight coming in at 7 oz. and has auto-mag dual braking that keeps backlashes at a minimum by automatically handling the braking for the angler. As far as casting ability, Reese said the ICON shines “With the 11+1 ball bearing system in the reel this thing LAUNCHES…LAUNCHES! I can fire this thing a long way!” he said.
The ICOn is a triple disc carbon fiber drag system that has 17.6 pounds of drag which is more than you’ll ever need for any bass. KastKing has also equipped the ICON bait caster with a high-capacity spool that holds 110 yards of 50# braid, a low-profile frame with smooth edges on the palm plate and the soft comfort of TPE handle knobs in Reese’s signature yellow. The handle length of Reese’s ICON bait caster is an oversized 110 mm length for easy cranking.
Reese said he’s looking forward to a long partnership with KastKing reels. “Once I realized KastKing was making such high-quality reels and developing cool technology, I wanted to be a part of it. I think KastKing is on the way to becoming the next ‘big brand’ in fishing. The
KastKing ICON will be available through multiple retail outlets as well as Reese’s new online retail site launching later this month, www.reesefishing.com.
