How to be Prepared for a Camping and Fishing Trip

   05.24.11

For camping trips with a planned fishing component two overlooked items that can turn out to be true lifesavers are a lock-blade filet knife and a second spool of line for a spinning reel. A lock-blade filet knife is much easier to carry in pockets and is less bulky to pack than a comparable knife with a sheath. A second spool of line can be vital in some situations, especially when fishing rivers and streams that are difficult to access. When going back to camp for new line means drastically cutting short prime fishing time, consider carrying an extra spool to switch out line even while standing in a stream.
