You should always keep your mind set on safety when hunting. That includes accounting for a situation in which you wouldn’t be able to get back to your transportation. A hunting buddy of mine has always done this and now I do it too.
Always leave a note in your car / truck showing where you’re hunting in case something happens in field and you can’t make it back. Also remember to take your cell phone.
You never know what could happen to you on a hunting trip, so covering all your bases and leaving a clear record of where you’ve been is a good habit.
