Tips for Fishing in a Lake for the First Time

   06.29.11

Something I recently learned is to not be so stubborn to try to figure everything out yourself. It’s okay to ask for help, whether it’s in life or at a lake.

When fishing a new lake or one you haven’t had much success on, don’t be afraid to ask the people around you for help. Sure, people aren’t going to give up all their secrets, but how do you think they found their secrets? They likely learned a couple tips from several other people and pieced together their own information until it worked for them. There really will never be any bad advice on how to catch the fish you’re looking for when you get it from someone who’s had success, but you do have to be selective still, because their tips might work, just not under the specific conditions you try them under.

So be tenacious and persistent and never be embarrassed to ask for a hand.
