If You Find Yourself Stranded Outdoors

Finding yourself by yourself out in the wilderness without any idea of where you should be headed can be a scary and potentially dangerous scenario. If you don’t have access to a cell phone, compass, or GPS, there is another way to work your way back towards other people. Find the nearest source of running water and just follow it downstream. It always has to end up somewhere where there is civilization.

There are obvious exceptions to this rule. If you know you are hundreds of miles from the nearest city in any department, then it’s not going to be of any use, but it’s still a solid tip for those situations where you find yourself accidentally stranded.
