Howle’s Hints: Checking Your ATV’s Differential
OutdoorHub Reporters 03.11.12
The biggest enemies to your ATV are water and grit in working parts. This makes it necessary to check the differential any time you have been in water for extended periods or when you complete regularly scheduled maintenance. When you remove the nut from the differential, if the lubricant has a milky appearance, chances are water has gotten into the lubricant. If so, change the fluid and check for any leaks.
