How To Use the i-Pilot Link: An Integrated System for Total Boat Control

Beginning in early 2013, anglers will have access to a new, completely integrated system for total boat control. This system, i-Pilot Link, combines the industry-leading strengths of Minn Kota trolling motors, Humminbird fish finders, and LakeMaster digital GPS map chips. Operating over an on-board ethernet network, i-Pilot Link allows users to control their boat using a hand-held remote controller or their Humminbird fish finder, providing them with access to a host of powerful boat control features. In this video, Jason Halfen explains how to use iTracks, one of the boat control features of i-Pilot Link, while fishing for Mississippi River crappies.

I am a professional educator, tournament angler, and multispecies fishing guide based in western Wisconsin. After 15 years in the front of the classroom and 8 years in the front of the boat, I know how to teach people to catch more fish, and to use modern technology to help them do so. My readers will be able to apply my information directly to their own trips on the water, so that they catch more and bigger fish, move up the leaderboard in tournaments, and create cherished memories of fishing trips with family and friends. My blog is the last place you will want to stop before your next trip, to see what's biting, and to learn how you can use the tools in your boat (especially advanced baits and modern electronics) to catch them.
