The fastest-growing hunting website partners with one of the biggest names in hunting to honor one of the most vital hunting and fishing habitats.
GoHUNTn (www.gohuntn.com), “where hunters connect,” launched its first-ever Wetlands Week from Monday, June 13, through Monday, June 20, presented by the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership.
“As we’re getting excited about the upcoming hunting seasons, now is the perfect opportunity to spend some time thinking about the habitats that our wildlife and fish rely on,” said Ned Desmond, president of GoSportn, Inc., the parent company of GoHUNTn. “We’re excited to work with the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership to celebrate wetlands and water that are vital to our ducks, geese, big game and fish.”
Wetlands Week comes on the heels of the TRCP’s launch of its Sportsman’s Tackle Box (http://www.trcp.org/ issues/wetlands/cleanwateract) to help outdoorsmen and -women understand the importance of the Clean Water Act for fish and wildlife. The Clean Water Act guidance, which is crucial for sustaining wetlands and waterways, is under threat of losing its funding in a budget proposed by the U.S. House of Representatives.
“The Clean Water Act is vital to ensuring that vulnerable waters that provide critical habitat to fish and wildlife, flood control, drinking water and a range of other benefits are conserved,” Steve Kline, director of the TRCP Center for Agricultural and Private Lands. “We’re looking forward to educating sportsmen and -women about this important issue and having fun with Wetlands Week with GoHUNTn.”
In addition to informative content, Wetlands Week will feature daily and weekly prizes on GoHUNTn.com. The Grand Prize winner who contributes the most to GoHUNTn during the week will win a $50 Gift Card and a TRCP membership. There will also be a photo contest and daily quizzes throughout the week.
