Art and Music Return to McCormick’s Creek SP

McCormick’s Creek State Park is hosting the 6th annual Arts in the Park festival on Friday, June 24 and Saturday, June 25.

Friday is Community Art day, from 1-4 p.m. Four stations will be set up for participants to create art they can take home. At 7 p.m. there will be a performance by the Hazelwood String Band.

Saturday, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., there will be an art fair with local artists and crafts persons featuring their original work for display and sale. Martina Celerin will present a Community Weaving Project from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Saturday musical performances include:

  • Leon Chance – noon
  • Fiddle ‘n’ Feet – 1 p.m.
  • David Gohn Band – 2 p.m.
  • Ruthie Allan Group – 3 p.m.
  • TOG – 4 p.m.
  • Freddie Shaw Band – 7 p.m.

All activities will take place in the nature center parking lot. McCormick’s Creek is located on State Highway 46, two miles east of Spencer.

Standard entrance fees of $5 for in-state vehicles and $7 for out-of-state vehicles will be charged.
