The Conservation Alliance to Hold Next Backyard Collective in Seattle

Seattle, Wash. (July 19, 2011) — The Conservation Alliance will hold our fourth Backyard Collective of 2011, on Friday, July 22nd in Seattle. In partnership with Cascade Land Conservancy, The Conservation Alliance and employees from member companies Outdoor Research, Nikwax, Brooks, Filson, Cascade Designs, Stanley, a brand of PMI, and Clif Bar will come together for day of stewardship and restoration in Seattle’s Westcrest Park.
“Westcrest Park is an urban, outdoor getaway offering incredible vistas, walking paths, hiking trails and open spaces,” said Deanna Lloyd, Conservation Alliance Outreach Associate. “As an organization that strives to protect and preserve the areas in which we recreate, The Conservation Alliance is excited to be working with Cascade Land Conservancy to help maintain Westcrest Park as a premier outdoor destination for the residents in the Seattle area.”
The Seattle Backyard Collective will take place on July 22nd with a volunteer restoration session from 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. followed by a celebratory BBQ and volunteer fair from 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. The volunteer fair will feature local Conservation Alliance grantees and will highlight additional volunteer opportunities and other ways to make a difference in the Seattle community.
