New Berlin, Wis., (August 2, 2011) – Sportsman Channel, the leader in outdoor TV for the American Sportsman, is proud to announce a record breaking episode of SOLO Hunters airing this Sunday, August 7 at 11 p.m. ET. This “MUST see” episode shows the team harvesting an SCI world record 191 California bighorn sheep in eastern Washington. The entire hunt is documented and it is an episode hunting enthusiasts can’t afford to miss. The California bighorn sheep is also a new Washington state record Boone & Crockett 191. Watch Solo Hunters on Sundays at 11 p.m., Thursdays at 8:30 and Fridays at 10:00 a.m. ET.
The credit for this record hunt belongs to Aaron Roth and Solo Hunters, videographer, Derek Erdmann. The process for Aaron and his wife Angie was arduous and detailed as the two put in 23 scouting trips and hunted through the rugged central Washington unit. On day two of the hunt, Aaron harvested the trophy Ram with his Tikka T3 rifle.
“Aaron is a great friend of ours and he drew a very special tag on this particular hunt and made the most of his opportunity,” said Tim Burnett, Host/Producer of Solo Hunters. “This could not have happened to two better people. Arron and Derek put in long hours and did their homework on this record bighorn and I feel very proud for both of them.”
Solo Hunters hunt for the challenge of a hard fought DIY (do it yourself) hunt despite the elements or terrain. There are no frills with the Solo Hunters as they hunt on their feet, off their backs or on land that they have researched, scouted and conquered for that opportunity for a trophy. The show has a definite western flair but also includes some of the best Midwestern whitetail hunting found on TV.
