Mule Deer Foundation Sponsoring Shooting Ranges at Wyoming Hunting & Fishing Heritage Expo

CASPER, Wyo. – The Mule Deer Foundation (MDF) is a Gold Level Sponsor for the upcoming Wyoming Hunting & Fishing Heritage Expo (WHFHE) in Casper, Wyo., Sept. 8-10, 2011.
MDF is supplying thousands of dollars of ammunition and will help man two shooting ranges during the Expo. MDF will also provide a number of targets and be giving away various promotional gifts.
The Expo is FREE and open to the public. There will be hands-on activities and other educational opportunities for everyone regardless of age, physical ability, or experience. Activities will include air guns, archery, firearms safety, habitat and wildlife management, fish identification, hunter skills and ethics challenge, fly-casting and fly-tying, poach coach, shotguns, .22 rifles and much more. Over 13,000 visitors are expected, including more than 8,000 youth.
MDF’s Chief Operating Officer Eric Tycksen said, “Earlier this year MDF announced a new education initiative with a goal of introducing more than 10,000 youngsters to the shooting sports each year. This Wyoming event is a perfect fit with our M.U.L.E.Y. (Mindful, Understanding, Legal and Ethical Youth) program, and we could not be more pleased to be involved.”
He concluded, “This is just one more way for us to recruit and mentor new hunters, shooters and conservationists.”
