Huntsville, Alabama – The announcement came yesterday at 8:45 am.
“We will host the SRS Crown Championship in 2012,” said Huntsville Sports Commission’s own Ralph Stone through a conference call from his office. “Our community has come together to make this a reality and we’re very proud to bring another great event to Huntsville. The SRS is all about competitiveness and the outdoors and it offers a family component that is very unique.”
The Super Retriever Series Executive Producer Shannon Nardi was ecstatic with the news.
“We love Huntsville. It’s become just about every handler’s favorite venue and the Jones Farm is incredible! When we’re there in early November and the leaves are changing, it’s absolutely gorgeous and the hospitality is second to none.”
SRS officials will unveil its brand new team concept, the SRS 4×4 Medley and she will rear her head for the first time in Huntsville, AL Oct 29-30, 2011. The 4×4 will pit teams of four handlers and four dogs against other teams in a 3 series event. Each event will contain a hunting savvy test, a field trial, and a hunt test scenario and every retriever must run each series. Scoring is a little different with an updated format of Excellence = 10 pts, Good = 7 pts, Average = 5 points, Poor = 3 pts, and lastly, failing the test will result in a zero.
Each member of the winning team will receive an invitation to the Crown Championship to be held in Huntsville in fall of 2012.
