The Zone Travels to Coastal Alaska for Unmatched Black Bear Hunting

Hosts Tim Herald and James Brion will give viewers an up close and personal journey of spot and stalk black bear hunting around the Kenai Peninsula. The team from The Zone stalked the black bears with the “boat based” approach while hunting one of Alaska’s biggest game animals. After four days of intense hunting, both hosts harvested two black bears to finish off a successful and memorable journey. Typical of any Alaskan spring, the weather was predictably inconsistent and wide-ranging. Throughout their bear hunt, Herald and Brion encountered all forms of weather. They tracked their bears by spot and stalking on the coastal grass flats. When the tide went down, the bears came out to eat. After five hours of hunting, Herald took aim with his .300 rifle and tagged a 6.5 foot black bear. During the same hunt, Brion successfully harvested a similar black bear of his own with his .300 rifle.
“This was one of the most exciting bear hunts I’ve been on in a long time,” said Tim Herald, host, The Zone. “We really wanted to take in the splendor of Alaska and experience some great bear hunting. Hunting black bears never gets old and I know viewers will appreciate the bears and the scenery of the Kenai Peninsula.”
