Modrak Wins Walmart Bass Fishing League Michigan Division on Lake St. Clair

WHAT: Boater Mark Modrak of China Township, Mich., caught a two-day total of 10 bass weighing 43 pounds, 3 ounces Sept. 24-25 to win $4,110 plus a $2,000 Ranger Cup bonus as well as a $1,000 Evinrude bonus in the Walmart BFL Michigan Division tournament on Lake St. Clair. Modrak used a swimbait and Rat-L-Trap to catch his bass.

WHAT: Nathan Nichols of Shelby Township, Mich., caught a two-day total of 10 bass weighing 39 pounds, 1 ounce Sept. 24-25 to win $2,055 in the Co-angler Division. Nichols used a spinnerbait and made a long run on St. Clair to catch his bass.

NOTES: The top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 20-22 Regional Championship on the Barren River in Scottsville, Ky. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a Chevy pick-up, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
